Some stats around XG & XA

I’m just looking at some stats around XG and XA, this is just a quick update as I will go into more details in a later post. I’ve started to include the shots as well. If we look at XG and CA combined and how they compare against the actuals we can see;

Haaland is just above his.
Palmer is well above his as his Salah.
Saka is well above his but that is based on his seven assists.
Woods is still over performing, but how will it last.

A player that a lot of people are looking at is Semenyo, he is just below his XG & XA but look at his shots, 24, only a few players are above that. Semenyo’s conversion rate is low though.

If we concnetrate on the goals and when they were scored we can see that haaland has really dropped off. 10 goals in his first 5 games and only one since.

Palmer is still up there for goals scored but we can see 4 in a single game week then 3 scored in the other games.
